Judge problem #002: Valakut po Spaceshift

Witajcie,

Judge problem #002.
Na ostatnim turnieju w formacie modern pojawiła się wątpliwość co będzie jak wchodzi Valaktu ze Scapeshifta...
Oto ruling:
10/1/2009 Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle's triggered ability has an "intervening 'if' clause." That means (1) the ability won't trigger at all unless, at the time a Mountain enters the battlefield under your control, you control five or more Mountains other than that new one, and (2) the ability will do nothing if you control fewer than five Mountains other than that new one by the time it resolves.
10/1/2009 If a Mountain you control leaves the battlefield between the time Valakut's second ability triggers and the time it resolves, be aware if that was the Mountain that caused Valakut's ability to trigger or not. If it was, Valakut's count isn't affected; if it wasn't, Valakut's count goes down by one.
10/1/2009 If multiple Mountains enter the battlefield under your control at the same time, Valakut's second ability could trigger that many times. Each ability takes into consideration the other Mountains that entered the battlefield at the same time as the one that caused it to trigger.
10/1/2009 You target a creature or player when the ability triggers. You decide whether to have Valakut deal damage to that creature or player as the ability resolves.

Ciekawy przykład od sędziego [by Nathan Long, L2]:
"...Valakut seems to be a powerful card, with some powerful interactions. But it’s not unstoppable. For instance, Valakut’s triggered ability has an intervening if. That means that Valakut checks the number of Mountains you control two times: to see if the ability should trigger in the first place, and again when the trigger goes to resolve. If the condition is no longer true when the trigger goes to resolve, then nothing happens when the trigger resolves. That means if, between the ability being added to the stack and the ability resolving, that player loses some Mountains, the ability won’t do anything when it resolve.

Let’s look at an example. Let’s say you have a Tectonic Edge on the battlefield, and I cast Scapeshift, sacrificing seven lands, and searching out a Valakut, four Stomping Grounds, and two Steam Vents. This causes Valakut to trigger a total of six times. Tectonic Edge can stop most of the damage. You don’t want to destroy Valakut, because Valakut’s triggered ability exists independent of the source that made it. No, what you want to do is destroy one of the other lands that just entered the battlefield. Since each trigger will check to see if you control five other Mountains when the trigger goes to resolve, by destroying one of the lands, you can prevent most of the triggers from resolving (the Valakut trigger from the land you destroyed will still resolve, however, since I still control five other Mountains when the trigger resolves)."
